Redo of my map of Mérindar. Nearly the same scale, it covers now far more space and a lot more details :)

May i ask you with what program you used to make this map? And how did you learned to make those lines like the rivers, regions etc if you know what i mean.

I use Photoshop to create my maps.
To draw the rivers and coasts I just looked at real sattelite images and tried to make my lines look similar ;)

They consist of three layers (low, medium, high mountains), with some differences in their blending options (mainly bevel & emboss). It's quite simple, all in all :)

It's very impressive!
Is it part of a gaming campaign?
Can you tell me what the map key says in English?

It's for my own german rpg board [link]

The map key in english:
left column - capital, important city, fortress, mountain top
right column - city, village, trade post, road, former frontier/border, farmland

Thanks, It's really amazing.
The details make it seem so real!
Do the red lines indicate country boarders?
Is it a fantasy setting with dragons and such?

Yes, the thicker red lines are country borders, the thinner ones indicate the borders of principalities.
At first sight it's a quite typical fantasy setting, but has it's individualities and does not simply consist of clichés :)

Cool, thanks. Yeah it seems like It must be a lot more subtle that the average fantasy game.
That's why I had to ask. I thought it might be actually more like realistic medieval.

Yeah, I always try to keep it realistic somehow, as much as this is possible with magic, elves & co. ;) It's a quite down-to-earth fantasy style.
